Metos Oy’s commercial kitchen equipment

At the beginning of the design project for Metos’ large kitchen equipment, the designer made an analysis of the client’s products’ position in the competitive field and a proposal for future production guidelines. We created a team of company’s management, marketing, product groups, product development and production. It took six months from the team to define the production guidelines. The result was a design guide that defined the main guidelines for future production.

The actual product development and design was carried out over seven years, by product group, covering the entire product range. The product groups include ovens, baking ovens, pressure cookers, cookers, frying pans, pots, washing machines, tunnel washing lines and distribution equipment. In industries with long product life cycles and a wide range of products, a coherent product policy can only be achieved by all parts of the company committing to a common design programme.
