Environmental plans

Cooperation with Lemminkäinen produced several environmental plans for public areas and yards. In the early 1980s, even in large cities, let alone smaller municipalities, there were no designers specializing in environmental planning. When concrete blocks first came on the market, it was common for product manufacturers and contractors to be asked to provide a plan for the construction of the site in question using the manufacturer's products when submitting a tender. Since the manufacturers did not have such environmental plan either, I started to draw up plans for Lemminkäinen Oy's products and for the projects carried out by their contractors. The cooperation also included a large number of lectures on environmental concrete, including Courses organised by the Finnish Concrete Industry Confederation SBK in different parts of Finland.

Cooperation with Lemminkäinen Oy also resulted in several product development projects that did not lead to production. The collaboration ended in 1990, when I moved to work for Helsinki construction office.
