ED-Design
ED-Design, a design agency based in Turku was founded in 1990. The company, initially known as Design Studio E&D, was born when two design studios, Destem (1976), founded by Tapani Hyvönen, and Juhani Salovaara’s Ergonomiadesign (1973), joined their forces. Large companies such as Nokia, Lohja, Tunturi and Oras became shareholders in the new company. In the first decade of the 2000s, ED-Design was the largest industrial design company in Finland.
The internationally award-winning ED-Design has been in the background of many successful Finnish products. The company’s designers have designed such products as Salora televisions, Mobira mobile phones, Polar Electro heart rate monitors, Tunturi fitness equipment, Valtra tractors and Oras taps. Nowadays the company offers its customers comprehensive product and service development from design and engineering to manufacturing.
