Taskinen Ahti
Ahti Taskinen graduated as an interior architect from the Interior Design Department of the School of Art and Design in 1963. Taskinen was interested in furniture design already during his studies. After graduation, he worked as a furniture designer at the furniture factory Asko and as an AD of the furniture chain Kaluste-Yhtymä. In 1966, he started his career as a freelance designer and founded his own company.
Taskinen has designed furniture for e.g. Vilka, Sopenkorpi, Myrskylä, Kalusto-Kolmio and Niemen Tehtaat. In the 1970s Taskinen also worked as a lecturer in furniture design at the School of Art and Design and as a visiting professor at the University of Cincinnati in the United States.
